02 December 2011 The new 2012 brochure and a celebration of 60 years of Artist Partners
In 1950 G. Donovan Candler left a major London based artists agency to set up in business with L.A. Rix, Betty Luton White, John Barker and the designer Reg Mount. They did not solicit the representation of those artists, designers and photographers whom they had previously represented, but were nevertheless inundated with requests from many of them for representation, and so in two rooms in Soho's Lower John Street, in May 1951, Artist Partners was founded. To celebrate our first sixty years we have plundered the archives and present a collection of images from the early days. Looking forward we show a selection of some of the artists from our current crop. Thanks to Bruno Tilley for brochure design, Michael Morris and Penny Jones for the retro section and Sam Hadley for the cover image. |
